This week, learn how to have fun with your body again! Ever thought that having to move your body scares the heck out of you and it would be easier not to move? Well, this week, try these tips that will make moving fun again.
Childhood Dreams Children are wired to seek fun. Have you ever spent an hour running and playing with a child - they’re such a delight. Be inspired by childhood play. Orchestrate an afternoon with friends to play ring around a rosy, musical chairs, capture the flag, pickle, tag or any number of other games. Involve your children for a fun-filled day of movement.
Man’s best friend Dog is man’s best friend. How true! Dogs can bring so much joy - and movement. If you don’t have a dog, “borrow” a neighbor’s or friend’s (everyone loves to have her dog walked by others). Go to the park, and throw a Frisbee or ball. Take a nice walk. If you’re a cat person, get an interactive toy or wand and play with your cat - all movement is good movement.
Forward WHO? When was the last time you did a hand stand, a forward roll, or a cart wheel? If that’s not for your body, pretend you’re a ninja or karate guru and show off some of your moves. You should give it a go some time - what a laugh! Compete with friends.
Cautionary note: please don’t do things that you can’t do safely. There’s plenty of fun stuff to do for every body so find what’s for you!
