How to Find Your Maximum Heart Rate
Finding your maximum heart rate (MHR) is really quite easy. First you subtract your age from the number 220. So, for example If you are 30 years old, then your maximum heart rate is 220 minus 30, which equals 190.
How to Find Your Optimal Minimum Heart Rate
Multiply your MHR by .50 and write down this number. For example your maximum heart rate is 190 multiplied by .50 equals 95. This is the optimal minimum heart rate for a 30 year old.
How to Find Your Optimal Maximum Heart Rate
Multiply your MHR by .60 and write down this number. For example your maximum heart rate is 190 multiplied by .60 equals 114. This is the optimal maximum heart rate for a 30 year old.
Now, as you complete your cardio, try to keep your heart rate between your optimal minimum and optimal maximum. It’s that easy!
