Tips

As much as we might like to believe a lack of time is what’s preventing us from including fitness activities into our lives, this can sometimes be the bane of our thoughts. I’ve discovered most people simply don’t understand how to “create time,” and, therefore, they’ve bought into the perception that they are too busy. (Remember, perception can become reality!) The great news is, we all have time to make regular fitness activity as part of our lifestyles.

Include Movement Into Your Everyday Activities
Walk to the shop instead of driving, take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk over to somebody and give them a message instead of emailing them, stand up and down while in front of the TV or computer, or move a little faster than usual around the house and hummm along to music. Music makes you want to move!

Structure Your Week
Write down everything you do in a day and if every day happens to be different, write down all days. By writing down your daily activities, I can assure you, you will find loop holes to fit in a little fitness activity somewhere.  Remember, there are 168 hours in one week and you only need 2-4 of them for your fitness activities.

Reorganize Your Daily Routine
Every day, you get up, you have breakfast, you bathe, you attend work, study, you do other lifestyle activities. If you change your mindset to including fitness activity just the same as you get up every day, then psychologically it does not feel like you have to include anything. Make it the same time of the day, every day you choose to play.

I really hope these sometimes overlooked, however simple ideas help you fit fitness time into your weekly routine. Read my blog this week and I will demonstrate on how our family fits fitness activities into our lives!
