Sometimes it can be downright painful to see the terrible ideas that are promoted in our culture by government, small businesses, corporate America, and health professionals. The ideas they champion, programs they designs, ads they run, and lines they use to sell us things can be upsetting, damaging and even dangerous.
This week, don’t stand for it. When you see something that offends your sentiments, don’t buy from that company or person and tell them exactly why you’re not going to. If you really want to make your point heard, blog about your dissatisfaction or even make a YouTube video about it.
This kind of political action has accomplished more than you could ever imagine in a society and culture structured like ours. Let’s leverage that power for the sake of promoting positive health ideals and practices, putting an end to scare mongering tactics, and learning to love, rather than scorn, our bodies - no matter their size.
