Last week you set out to discover a movement that you enjoy doing.
Did you succeed? I certainly hope so, but if you didn’t find anything, there’s still time. Keep looking and find a type of movement that is simply a delight to do. It’s out there - I promise.
If you did find something, that’s wonderful!
This week’s tip: start yourself down the right path and schedule your movement and do your activity.
If it was a class or something that you do with friends, sign up officially and put the class on your calendar. If it’s something that you will be doing on your own, make sure to take the time out of your week to do it by adding the activity to your calendar.
Make your movement a habit. You didn’t learn to brush your teeth every night by giving it a shot when you had time. You made teeth-brushing a habit by doing it no matter how late it was, how tired you were or how much you needed a new tooth brush. Why? Because it was good for you.
Moving regularly is the same, and even when it’s a movement we enjoy doing, it’s hard to make it a regular habit if we don’t schedule the time for it. Put your movement or exercise on the calendar and start making it a habit. Pretty soon you won’t know how you did without time set out for regular movement.
And don’t forget to have fun with whatever you resolved to do!
