You know that feeling. You’ve eaten way more than your body could handle, and now you feel lethargic and logy. There’s nothing wrong or bad about overeating, at Thanksgiving or otherwise, but you might have not ended up feeling like this if, somewhere along the way, you were able to check in with yourself and figure out what you really wanted to be eating.
So here’s a new tip to help you get through the holidays without ignoring your body’s fullness levels.
This Thanksgiving, talk to yourself like a kindly parent. Ask yourself, lovingly, what you want to eat and how much, and then follow through. In this way, you send yourself the message that your needs and desires around food are important, and you give yourself the space to hear and act on those desires.
