Have you ever noticed that your body craves different things depending on the time of year? In the wintertime we want heavier, heartier and warmer foods to help us feel warm and deeply sated. On the contrary, summertime and the hotter weather that comes with it incline us towards lighter foods, more fruits and brighter vegetables. Moreover, the agricultural plenty reflect this seasonal variation.
With summertime here (well, unofficially considering Memorial Day’s signification), this week, start experimenting with some of the fresh summer foods that are appearing in farmer’s markets, grocery stores and fruit stands.
