Very often, we don’t even notice our own perfectionism. It shows up more as guilt, shame, and frustration at our inability to “measure up” to some standard or another.
A lot of us get caught up in our future perfectionism, thinking that when we just get everything perfect and right, we can finally relax. We think that when the to-do list is done, and we’re at our perfect size, and our hair finally looks right, then we can enjoy our lives and be happy.
Trust me, if you’re waiting for things to be perfect in order to be happy, you can never be happy.
So for this week’s tip, be more mindful of any perfectionist tendencies you may have. Where might more acceptance of who you are provide you with more peace?
