Did you know that sitting in front of a television for more than 4 hours a day can reduce your life expectancy?*
This week, try to reduce the time you spend in front of the TV by the amount suggested.
If you watch . . . . . . . . Reduce your time in front of the TV by:
30+ hrs/week 2 hours
25 - 30 hrs/week 1.5 hours
20 - 25 hrs/week 1 hour
15 - 20 hrs/week 45 minutes
10 - 15 hrs/week 30 minutes
0 - 10 hrs/week 15 minutes
See how it goes and if you can sustain this over the next 2 months. If you can, then in the 2 months period after that, try to reduce your television time again according to the chart. Don’t worry, though - I’ll remind you when the time comes!
Things To Do Instead of Watching Television

~ Spend more time with your children helping them create their famous pieces of artwork out of plastic, cardboard, egg cartons, etc.
~ Clean out some of those cupboards and drawers you have been meaning to spruce up for quite some time (it’s a great feeling when accomplished)
~ Do some stretches to keep your muscles supple and to prevent cramps
~ Volunteer at your local homeless shelter or food bank
~ Coach little league
~ Learn to sew and make yourself some custom designed clothes
