As my practice has grown, I have found that my focus on my own health and wellbeing has lapsed. As a Fitness Trainer I cannot afford to let this happen, and I have to find ways of making time for my own health and wellbeing.
Here are a few of the tips that helped me, and I hope that you’ll give them a shot this week:
Scheduled It. By putting everything in your calendar, from the diurnal tasks, to the weekly appointments, you will be able to schedule in time to fit in fitness. This doesn’t have to be a trip to the gym - maybe a ten minute walk here or a desk exercise or two there.
Condense Tasks & Let Technology Assist. Currently, I am learning new skills, some of which require that I listen to a series of audio CDs. Since being near a CD player required stagnation, I came up with a solution (I love the word solution - you don’t really have a problem when you have a solution): I downloaded the CD onto my phone and listen while I am out walking or running. Two birds; one stone.
Take Advantage of Cancellations and Rescheduling. Sometimes during the week appointments get cancelled or shuffled around. I call this opportunity. This ‘open’ time is a great time to concentrate on your own health and wellbeing.
This week, try using these valuable skills to help you manage your time and fit in your own health and wellbeing. Please read Fitness For All this week on how I have managed to thwart the negligence of my health despite dwindling space on the schedule.
