Boards will always be trolled, even closely monitored ones. The trick is to report them quickly. Kudos for the board moms and dads for the quick clean up :)

So sorry that nasty post did get through. That person has been banned and his posts have been deleted.

We screen for trolls but can’t know who a troll is, without thoroughly vetting everyone who signs up and wants to post quickly, until s/he posts. That is why we make people sign up for the site though - just as an extra layer of hassle for those who have nothing nice to say.

So sorry everyone on this thread had to deal with that.

I have no idea what to say to my doctor when he insists that I get on the scale. I don’t want to be weighed. I don’t like knowing what I weigh. Yet for some reason he insists that it’s necessary to my health that he know how much I weigh. I know that’s not true, but he’s a doctor and I just don’t know what to say.

Any recommendations?

Knuckle up and get on that scale. First thing in life is accepting what God has given you. You have to be happy. Not wanting to know your weight is not accepting yourself. You have to accept yourself before anyone can accept you. You might think this is not necessary, but it is and it will help you stand firm in whatever you do.

Jump on that scale and show the doctor and yourself your weight. As soon as you know your weight make sure not to add to it.

I never thought of it that way - not wanting to know your weight is part of not accepting yourself.  Hmmmm.  It is a question of just not being afraid of a number or letting a number define you.

However, adding to weight should not be a concern either - unless it is for an unexplained reason.  The thing is you can be healthy at any size - to me there is no such thing as a “healthy weight”—If I weigh 350 pounds today, but don’t eat well and don’t exercise - I may be unhealthy; however, if I start to exercise and eat better, I may still weigh 350 pounds, but be healthier.  Weight doesn’t make you healthy - it’s the behavoir of the person.

I have never had a problem with my weight that wasn’t caused by others.
