Playful
Definition: full of play or fun; sportive; frolicsome; pleasantly humorous or jesting
When, during the course of our lives, does it stop being natural to be playful?
As kids, we were excited about all the sites and sounds surrounding us. As adults, we sometimes miss the beauty of our environment because we are too focused or stressed on the things that make us adults.
But who says we can’t act and think playfully as adults?
I guarantee you that most people would rather be around playful people than overly serious ones. Haven’t you ever noticed that the most missed people are the ones who light up the room with cheerfulness? My former colleague, Viren, was the best guy to have in the conference room, because he did a great job with his work, but also knew how to have a good time. When he moved out of state, his absence was sorely felt because there was just less of a playful atmosphere.
Of course, some of us are not naturally playful. But you don’t need to have the confidence to tell jokes in front of large crowds to be fun to be around. Playfulness is so underrated these days, yet it has the potential to give you and those around you a bright, new lens through which to view life.
Try to recapture a playful attitude. You may be surprised by the energizing powers of a new and playful outlook on life!
