Mirror
Definition: a reflective surface, now typically of glass coated with a metal amalgam, that reflects a clear image.

Every morning, a time or two, we glance or even stare into the mirror. We place great emphasis on this reflection. Our lives are centered around how we see ourselves in this mirror. We tell ourselves, “Oh, I will change this,” or “I wish this were like that.” All the while, destroying our reflection. We pick and pick at it, until there is nothing left—nothing left at all.
Mirrors were not created for doubting but for doting. I mean, no such device is needed for yourself or others to be disapproving, so it was not designed for self-loathing. Mirrors were created for self-admiration and for glorifying. This being the case, we should honor its purpose—as well as honoring our own. We were created for much more than self and societal deprecation. A gander in the mirror should always be an opportunity to find something new and spectacular about ourselves.
Vision does not start with sight; it ends with sight. Our vision, our view of the world, begins with the mind and heart. What we think and feel is ultimately what we see. If we change how we think and feel about ourselves, we ultimately alter our vision.
Loving me has morphed my self-vision, and it now matches my true reflection. All it took was a little revision.
