Idea
Definition: a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action; an opinion or belief; a feeling that something is probable or possible

Ideas are insanely powerful things. We have a saying in my family. Whenever we see or hear about something phenomenal or moving, for example, someone inevitably blurts out, “It just takes an idea…” And it’s totally true.
Facebook is an example. The iPad is another. Coffee shops, beanie babies, wireless internet, Chinese take-out, post-it notes, DVDs. They all started with an idea.
When you think about it, ideas are sort of what make the world go round.
Which is why we should probably pay attention a bit more to the ideas we have on a daily basis. How many ideas do you think you have in one day? One week?
I have no idea how many ideas I have. My best writing ideas always come to me right as I’m crawling into bed at night, so I started keeping pen and paper on my nightstand. Actually, I try to carry pen and paper with me at all times so that I can make notes whenever I have ideas, but I don’t always remember to make the notes, and when I do, it’s a pretty rare occasion that I can actually decipher my scribbles later. Bummer.
Having a really great idea, an “Aha!” moment, can be so exhilarating and energizing. It can result in change, motivation, inspiration, joy. Ideas give us the power to be and do every single day.
Ideas are also meant to be questioned, like preconceived notions about things that may not be so. Questioning ideas can lead to newer and better ideas.
