Help
Definition: make it easier for (someone) to do something by offering ones’s services or financial or material aid; improve (a situation of problem); be of benefit to

I used to have a really difficult time asking for help - with anything and everything. In my mind, I equated asking for help with incompetency, and I hated to admit that there were things I couldn’t do independently.
In fact, asking for help can be the exact opposite of incompetency. Having the ability to recognize that you can’t do everything by yourself, and/or that you shouldn’t have to do everything by yourself even if you can, is an indication that you have a strong and assertive personality, which is something that should be viewed as a positive quality, not a negative one.
Offering help is equally important. Even when it’s not asked for. It can be something as simple as offering to do a chore that typically isn’t assigned to you or as contributing to the construction of a new home for a family in need.
It took some serious health setbacks for me to realize that asking for help isn’t a bad thing. Asking for help has allowed me to live a healthy life despite having a chronic illness, and it also inspires me to give other people support whenever and however I can.
Help can be given or received in a multitude of ways, but no matter how large or small the act, it is always appreciated.
