Embrace
Definition: hold (someone) closely in one's arms;accept or support (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically
One of my favorite things to do is pick up loved ones from the airport. I love watching families reunite, soldiers return to their loved ones, Moms and Dads and children coming home, others arriving at new and exciting destinations. There are so many untold stories in the waiting areas of airports. So many embraces of love, sorrow, excitement and relief.
Are you a “hugger?” Do you prefer hugs to kisses? What is the most meaningful embrace to you?
Of course, embrace does not only mean the physical act of hugging something or someone. In life, we can embrace so many things, concepts and people.
We can embrace life itself.
What’s most important to you in life? Pick something very specific. Now think about the best way to embrace this most meaningful element in your life.
My pick: spending time with family. I want to make sure that I do everything in my power to show them how much I love and care about them. I do this by thinking before saying anything potentially harmful or anything that could be misunderstood. I really listen when my family members talk to me about their thoughts and feelings. By doing these things I hope to show them how much I love them, and I hope to embrace my love for them.
