The moment so many of us have been waiting for is finally here - the erection of the billboards in Georgia. We at More of Me to Love are thrilled and honored to have been a part of this amazing fundraising campaign and grassroots community activism.
The Billboard Project was led by Ragen Chastain, amazing fat activist, blogger and dancer. As we raised money for this project, More of Me to Love did an interview with Ragen that you can read HERE.
The goal of the Billboard Project is to send a message to all of those people, organizations and companies - including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - who believe that shaming fat people and fat children into hating their bodies is the right way to motivate them to become healthier (because their definition of health is tied directly to body size and weight).
We believe that the best way of communicating healthy values is through the Health At Every Size model, which promotes a behavior-centered (rather than a weight-centered) approach to health amidst an environment of self-love and respect for all bodies of all shapes and sizes.
In order to send this message people donated their hard-earned money to The Billboard Project which subsequently raised over $21,000 to raise 6 billboards around the city of Atlanta. The original goal was to raise $10,000 for one billboard, but the success of the project allowed us to get 6 billboards and 10 bus shelter signs that included samples of the STANDards series, another Health At Every Size effort designed to end weight stigma and weight bullying and led by sensational fat activist, Marilyn Wann. These bus shelter signs can also now be seen around the city of Atlanta.

We thank each and every person who donated her or his time, effort and money, inspirational activists Ragen and Marilyn, the wonderful and talented Sabrina Wilson, who designed the beautiful billboard itself and the corresponding website and the marvelous Elizabeth Tamny who painstakingly perfected each of the published STANDards signs.
And lastly, thank you to the More of Me to Love community for supporting this amazing effort and allowing us to send a message to GA’s children that they are not alone and that we all stand for their right to love their bodies and themselves, no matter their size.
We promote and spread the healthiness and happiness that you deserve through our welcoming community, certified experts and empowering programs. But More of Me to Love is more than the sum of its parts: it’s a lifestyle of living better and loving yourself. For more, check out the About page.
