Hi there! :)

After my lovely vacations I’m back, full of ideas and hopes for the new year. I’ve been to France and England and next week I’ll talk about that experience in detail (regarding plus size fashion and related themes).

Last time I was here, I left you with a few questions to chew on (and I promissed I’d do the same):

> What are your resolutions regarding fashion and your appearance?
> Do you want to try on different things? New colors, new kinds of shoes, makeup or hairstyle?
> What do you think was a great change that happened to you last year that you’d like to keep doing this year?
> Do you want to find clothes that fit better or more comfortably?
> What are your dreams and wishes?

Well, challenge accepted, I present you with my New Year’s Fashion Resolutions. To be more organized I’ll use the questions I’ve created to “interview” myself.

What are your resolutions regarding fashion and your appearance?

I plan to keep comfort as my fashion key word above all aspects. I truly believe that you can only feel beautiful if you are also feeling comfortable in your clothes. And I also believe that we can look gorgeous and comfortable at the same time.

Concerning my appearance, I intend to keep doing the work I’ve been trying to do so far: focusing on the things I like about my body instead of the ones I don’t. I also intend to keep letting my hair grow.

Do you want to try on different things? New colors, new kinds of shoes, makeup or hairstyle?

One thing that I don’t wear very much of because it’s hard to find comfortable ones are denim pants and bermudas. I really like the effect of outfits built with jeans as their foundation, but since I don’t consider them very comfortable I’ll try a bit harder this year to find ones that fit and that are beautiful.

Another thing that I’m interested in is mixing patterns (that one is a REAL challenge for me) and employing the color yellow. I like the color, I really do, but I don’t like it with my skin tone. However, I recognize that yellow accessories can make a huge difference in an outfit, and I intend on giving yellow a chance.

Regarding makeup and hair styles I have tons of beauty tutorials that I keep collecting but rarely put to use. So, I intend to start using them and to have fun with them (and share my experience here)!

What do you think was a great change that happened to you last year that you’d like to keep doing this year?

Iv’e learned to wear leggings with shirts that are not that long (huge change), and also I’ve begun wearing different materials like the wet leggings ( I never thought I’d like them, but they make me feel like a rock star) and in different colors. For a long time I only wore black ones, but now I’m wearing brown and gray. Maybe I’ll try some prints.

Another thing I learned to enjoy last year was wearing colored eyeliners.. Like I did with the leggings, I’ve found out that there are many colors other than black when it comes to eyeliner. And I intend to keep playing with colors!

Do you want to find clothes that fit better or more comfortably?

This is a lifetime plan. I’m always researching brands, stores and styles to find comfort, quality, style and reasonable prices. And it’s possible to find them all, but it’s a bit of hard work, too. For me, this is always a goal, since fashion is always changing and evolving.

What are your dreams and wishes?

Regarding fashion I want to be bolder and experiment more: to get inspired by events, people and everything that surrounds me.

My biggest aspiration, though, is to develop strategies to overcome that uncomfortable “I don’t have anything to wear” (although my closet is full of clothes). I plan to research a bit in order to find solutions to one of my biggest fashion problems, and I believe that it’s something very common among women. And, also as a goal, I intend to write about my discoveries to help other women, too.

As for dreams, my biggest fashion dream is to find bigger sizes in regular stores: not a plus size line, but bigger sizes of the “regular” lines.

Answering these questions has helped me set some goals and to see with more clarity where I am right now and where I want to go from here. These are all fashion related answers, but since I believe that fashion is self expression, self love and fun, these questions will probably help in other areas of my life, too.

If you want to share your fashion resolutions, please feel free to write in the comments, forums or by email. As always, I love hearing from the MOMTL Community!
