Listen to Others
Just because we, as humans, are creatures of habit, that doesn’t mean that we want to stop learning and experiencing.
I know my customers enjoy all of their sessions just from asking them and seeing their smiling faces when we’re done. But I just know sometimes that some of them are a little bored with doing the same types of activities that they have been doing for awhile.
Even when I do introduce different techniques and ways of doing things, I can just tell that they would like to be trying something really new and exciting.
So, just from listening to my clients’ conversations (and, no, I was not eavesdropping) I can learn when it’s time for something new. We all have a chat at the beginning and end of our sessions, as our relationships have begun to extend beyond simply client-trainer ones. From this, I learn what my clients want and I learn how to give it to them.
Give the People What They Want
So you know what I learned people want in their sessions?
Dance movement!
Dance seems to be the latest craze in fitness at the moment, (at least in Australia, that is). People just can’t seem to get enough of it. And you don’t have to be co-ordinated to give it a go. Apparently, what people love to do is Zumba.
That’s right, my clients and also other people around me are talking about this latest craze in fitness, and they are just loving it. So, it is now my turn to step up to the plate and gain the instructor training required to become a ZUMBA instructor.
Now if that is not trying something new and moving forward, I don’t know what is. I have never instructed a dance class in my life, but hey, how hard can it be? Wow, I am making it sound so easy, but I’m shaking in my boots just thinking about it.
Either way, it should be a new adventure for me and them, and I can’t wait to learn Zumba and get my certification.
Drop me a line in the comments. What new thing are you trying this week? Does it make you nervous to try new things or are you comfortable with them? Do you have any tips on overcoming fears of trying something new? Have you ever tried Zumba? What do you think? Have a brilliant week!
