Why are we so focused on the issue of our weight?
Is it the Media? Is it our health practitioners who are still being trained with a Weight-Centered Approach rather than a Health-Centered Approach to helping people with their health conditions?
I ask you this question: Do you know of any Health-Centered Approach Practitioners in your area?
To date, I still have not personally come across a health practitioner who believes in a Health-Centered Approach to helping people with their health issues - but I know they’re out there. I want to hear from you. If you know of a Health Practitioner in your area that practices a Health-Centered Approach, please can you share this most valuable information with our community.
I have a little story for you…
Last week, I received an email from a person who found me through one of my most valuable mentors, Lily O’Hara. This person, who emailed me, was searching for a fitness trainer in Melbourne, Australia with a Health At Every Size Approach to fitness training. This person informed me that she had been unable to find such a person and wondered if I new of one.
From this email, I proceeded to search for a fitness trainer in her area who utilized the Health At Every Size approach. The last time I underwent this search was when I was doing my own research, which ultimately led me to create my Health At Every Size fitness business in early 2009.
Once again, I could not find a fitness trainer with this approach in Melbourne who could help the person who had contacted me. I wrote back to inform my contact that there was still no one in her area to assist with her fitness training. Thus, I offered my Virtual Health Coaching option. Though quite grateful, this person wanted face time with her health coach in order to assist her with her health and wellbeing journey for life.
Again, I ask you, if anybody out there knows of any other Health At Every Size approach fitness trainers like myself who live in other areas of the globe, could you please post it on our blog for our community (especially if you know someone in Melbourne). Also, make sure that you if you do know such people, they enter themselves on Dr. Linda Bacon’s Health at Every Size registry.
